Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) has appointed Mrs. Daphne Oppong as its new Head of Human Capital, marking a strategic move in its ongoing brand refresh and commitment to people-centered transformation.
The bank described the appointment as a vital part of its evolving leadership structure, designed to enhance its impact in Ghana’s financial services sector. Mrs. Oppong brings a wealth of experience in human resources, having worked across banking and manufacturing industries throughout Africa.
She specializes in Organizational Design, Culture and Change Management, Policy Development, and Talent Management. Her leadership is expected to align people strategy with UMB’s vision of inclusive growth and operational excellence.
UMB CEO Dr. Philip Oti-Mensah welcomed her appointment, stating:

Mrs. Oppong, a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHRI), holds a Stanford LEAD Certificate, an EMBA from the Paris Graduate School of Management, and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Coast.
