The Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG) has declared a nationwide strike action effective tomorrow, September 27, 2024.

This decision comes after what they describe as government disregard for obligations under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and failure to implement the revised allowances for senior members of public universities.

TUSAAG remarked that “government has engaged in systemic discrimination against TUSAAG regarding the payment of common allowances, favouring other unions of the same class of workers in public universities. TUSAAG is unable to tolerate working conditions that undermine the principles of fairness and equity”.

Consequently, and effective tomorrow friday, “TUSAAG will withdraw all services across all technical universities in Ghana until our demands are met. The following actions are required:

1 Payment of the agreed upon rates for vehicle maintenance, off-campus allowances, fuel, utility, and sanitation/security allowances without further delay.

2 A formal acknowledgment of grievances and a commitment to uphold the terms of the CBA

According to them “The Association stands united and resolute in commitment to fight for the respect and recognition it deserves”.
