Justice, where is justice for our nation, our communities, our homes and most of all our hearts
and minds?

The agonizing wrath and cry of our nation has echoed down through the hearts and
[ads1]minds of our departed forebears, but it is heard with an escalating propensity as our nation becomes more volatile and panic-stricken.

Tens of decades ago, our forebears suffered an intense strangulation. They became veterans of economic, cultural, social and more especially political and philosophical subjugation. Agony became their shelter, tears became their water, the shedding of blood became their responsibility and a non-ending anger for the good of the future (today) became their food.

All these became the fundamental necessities of our great forebears. Their endless efforts to make our nation a safe place were truncated by the inevitable force of our creator. Death!, a painful friend of man became jealous of their efforts to make our nation a safe place. What could they do to stop it?

But fortunately, on our nation’s part, the grandchildren of our great forebears left no stone unturned. The meticulous, keen and bitter quest for our nation’s good by our forebears became part and parcel of their grandchildren.

The mountains, inselbergs and the plains to which our forebears stood envisioned were the playing grounds of their grandchildren. The patriotic nature of our great forebears prompted them to leave the vision they had for our nation behind. This vision befriended our grandparents to continue the battle for our nation’s good.

The battle continued…..

But in 1957, our grandparents were able to uproot this huge tree of malignity. 1957 came as a great beacon of hope.
1957 came as an ecstatic day-break to truncate the far-stretched night of our nation’s subjugation. This was the year in which the battle ended.

Brothers and sisters, you and I might not have been there by 1957. But History will always
remain permanent.

History tells you and I that, in 1957, our grandfather, the Late Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah categorically and emphatically declared;
“At long last, the battle has ended! And thus, Ghana, your beloved country is free forever!”
There saw a myriad of people rejoice with optimism.
From onwards, our nation was renamed from “Gold Coast” to “Ghana.”

Ghana, our nation became an independent country with its copartner, democracy as an ideology.

My brothers and sisters, may I beg to ask “Is our nation, Ghana still accommodating such patriots?” Brothers and sisters, I would not be unsophisticated to say “YES!”Even if I should, then, I say it because of the few patriots in our nation’s midst.

Friends, brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, I must be disgusted, I must be repulsive at this moment, I must not leave my vision to decompose in me without unearthing it. I will owe our creator and our nation a bunch of questionnaires to answer if I keep mute.

Our nation is messing up. The people are uncertain of our nation’s good future.
I see our nation slipping off the board of democracy.
I see our great forebears tears fill their graves.
I see our nation filled with diabolic forces. Insecurity now a daily bread.
Our lawmakers now live in fear.
Come to think of a father who built a mansion of democracy for his children, but to see from his
a grave that one day that mansion was filled with different ideologies rather than democracy.
I see democracy gradually excruciate and being slowly replenished with Plutocracy, Aristocracy and Kleptocracy.
I see Ghana filled with agony. I see corruption, favouritism, tribalism, nepotism, insecurity and above all discrimination.

I see Ghana being ruled by the wealthy, I see our nation being overwhelmingly invaded by
looters. I see our nation being bedevilled with hatred and injustice.
I see our nation being polluted
by unhealthy political propaganda.

Brothers and sisters, must we allow tribalism conquer our good minds? Are we not all descendants of Adam and Eve?
I say must we still allow the bitter aspect of the “TOWER OF BABEL” manifest in our reign of
tranquillity? No! my brothers and sisters.
I see corruption and injustice deplete the good dogma of our nation.
I see complacency gradually
eat up the talents of our nation’s children. I see the poor exempted from decision making in our nation.
Come to think of the number of people who can not go to school with their better results.
Come to think of the number of people who are underemployed or jobless.
Come to think of the number of people who dwells on the streets of our cities.
Brothers and sisters, has our nation not gotten the resources? Has our nation not gotten stakeholders? But why brothers and sisters?

Let me say it from the bottom of my heart, I can not be satisfied and will never be satisfied until justice explodes like an active volcano and equality as an ecumenical force. Must all these
diabolic forces continue in our reign?

Rise up! Brethren. For Martin Luther King Jr. said, “This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquillizing drug of gradualism.” There is no time!

I have a vision that our nation will be a much better place to live if all these pain-stricken forces are eliminated from our hearts and minds. Why can’t we do that to secure the future?

Must we allow the coming generations wither?Absolutely no!
We are all one people with a common destiny. And we must not allow this destiny to be thrown into the sea by some few people.

Rise!-Rise up!!. I say rise up to help keep our nation on track for good future.

I vehemently unearth this as a veteran of Democracy, a veteran of equal rights and justice and I enjoin you to listen or read as veterans of the above good forces. Let us all clasp hands together as
veterans of those good forces and stop belabouring ourselves with those bad forces that propel the
good of our nation back. Let us keep Ghana on track for good.

I live you with the melodious words of the second paragraph of the US declaration of independence, “We hold these truths to be self-evidenced that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights and freedoms, among them are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. ”

Thank God Almighty.
