The type of gun at the centre of the tragic incident

A 6year old boy, Jerry has allegedly shot his 4years younger brother, Alex to death this afternoon April 19, 2018 at Sra a suburb of Somanya in the Yilo Krobo District of the Eastern Region

Narrating the horrific incident to Awake News, the grandfather, Mr. [ads1]Benjamine Tetteh of the two young boys said, he went to the farm this afternoon when he received a call around 3pm that his two grandchildren, Jerry and Alex who were both on vacation and had visited him were playing and Jerry had shot the younger brother in the head.

According to him, upon reaching the house, he indeed found Alex’s lifeless body in a pool of blood in his room.

The suspect, Jerry and his grandfather whose gun the minor [Jerry] used to allegedly shoot the younger brother were both held at the Somanya District Police Command to assist in investigations.

The Somanya District Police Commander has confirmed the incident to Awake News but said the investigation is currently ongoing.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Atua Government Hospital, Odumasi.
