Until her demise, the late Kondayire was a member of the Regional Communications Directorate of her party. With barely months to the December 7 general elections, her passing is a big loss for the NPP. She is described as a “powerful force” by his colleagues in the party in the region.

“It is with heavy hearts that the Communication Directorate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) announces the passing of our dear colleague, Madam Monica Kondayire (Alias Monica Kons), a cherished member of our team and a fervent advocate for our political ideals. Monica’s devotion and untiring commitment to promoting our cause in our region have left an indelible mark on our hearts and in our work,” part of a statement released by the Upper East Regional Communication Director of the NPP, Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga, announced.

The statement furthered that the “thoughtful and incisive interventions” of the deceased politician played a major role in “guiding and supporting our team of young communicators. Monica never hesitated to lend her critical insights to strengthen our message and advance our goals. Her absence will be sorely missed, and her contributions will be remembered with deep gratitude.”

Meanwhile, the party has banned political communication activities across the region in honour of the late communicator. According to the party, the decision is to pave the way for proper mourning and show respect to the deceased and the family she left behind. The ban takes effect from Monday, May 6 to Friday, May 10.

“In light of this profound loss, the Communication Directorate of the NPP announces the suspension of all political communication activities from the 6th of May to the 10th of May, 2024. This decision reflects our collective grief and the need to take time to mourn the loss of our dear colleague. All communicators are entreated to take note of this directive and abide by the same,” the statement directed.
