The decision of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to retain Otto Addo as head coach of the Black Stars has been met with mixed reactions, including from the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams.
Despite the team’s disappointing performance last year, which saw only two wins in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the GFA has chosen to stick with the coach.
In an interview, Adams expressed his concerns about the GFA’s choice, admitting that he was not fully satisfied with their decision. However, he acknowledged that the GFA had explained their reasoning.
While he raised his doubts, Adams conceded that with important matches ahead, it may not be the ideal time for a coaching change.
Addo, who continues to face scrutiny for the team’s poor form, will now be under significant pressure to prove his worth and deliver the results needed as the Black Stars look to regain momentum in the World Cup qualification campaign beginning March 21.
