Three soldiers travelling in a military pickup were killed in last Sunday’s rains, according to NADMO reports.
The incident happened at Adjei Kojo, Tema West, and reports are scanty on how the three uniformed military personnel were washed away by the rains at Adjei Kojo.
According to NADMO, other deaths were recorded in some parts of Greater Accra Region, warning that this year’s rains are going to be heavy, with accompanying rainstorms, therefore, the need for everybody to be cautioned to stay indoors when the rains start.
NADMO further warned motorists not to drive through fast running rain waters as they could be deadly. NADMO reported that, like the rains on Sunday, April 7, yesterday’s rains also heavily flooded most parts of Accra.
The report blamed the narrowness of most of the drains in parts of Accra as some of the consequences of the flooding on our roads, albeit it did not discount poor human sanitation practices which have always silted major drains.
