After a brief deliberation between party executives of the Ashaiman NDC and EC officials, a third polling station has been created to speed up the election process of the party delegates who are casting their presidential ballot today.
The 2,076 constituency delegates are casting their ballots at the Celestial School Complex, today February 23, 2019, where there were only two centers for the large number.
The two centers were slowing down the process and after a brief meeting between Stephen Reynolds, the Ashaiman EC officer, and Tony Afenyo, Ashaiman NDC constituency chairman, and other party executives, a third polling station with three booths had been created.
This, Tony Afenyo said, would ease tension at the centre. Earlier, Ernest Norgbey said the party hierarchy, in consultation with the EC officers, was considering creating another polling center to reduce the long queue at the center.
That way, he said, the process would end in time. The security situation at the center is high and the party hierarchy are
doing their best to calm down tensions as delegates keep lingering in
the queue.
