UT and Capital Bank are all gone with mysterious reasons given to save the face of their deals during the 2016 elections.

They nearly collapsed Prudential bank because of the million dollar loan they went for to finance their campaign.

The country was shocked to hear Ken Ofori Atta paid the loan with [ads1]interest in less than a year in office of the NPP and it was shortly after the government secured the controversially KENBOND.

ADB nearly also went into the drain with factors which include the questionable MaCcdan loan which was given at a time the board of the banks had not been constituted.

It was the time Ken Ofori Atta acted as the board chairman and members as well to approve by giving directives for the loan to be granted.

Yesterday was the turn of Unibank. Just last week, Unibank was in the news of taking over ADB with 51shares because of liquidity issues but we were shocked with the turn around of Unibank rather been taken over by KPMG.

No wonder experts like one of Ghana’s experienced Professor of Economics, Prof. Gatsi was also alarmed and suspect “Hannah Tetteh’s handshake” in the Unibank take over saga by Bank of Ghana.

We are told GN bank is next so they should watch out.

My worry is not about Bank of Ghana cleaning and streamlining the financial market.

But my worry is on why Databank is untouchable. I wonder why data bank is not part of names of banks on their list.

Databank was almost on the verge of collapse before the return of the NPP.

Today Databank has recovered from its financial slumber and is opening new branches.

No wonder we are told almost all the staffs of Databank now works in the Finance ministry. This is what I call “occupational nepotism”.

To my surprise last month when I visited Sunyani SNNIT office in the Brong Ahafo Region, I realized part of the Regional office of Bank of Ghana has now been acquired and used by Databank.

They now operate from the same building of Ghana Commercial bank, a property of Bank of Ghana which is opposite the Regional post office, besides regional SNIIT office and directly at the back of Cocoa board.

Does this not constitute another conflict by Ken Ofori Atta the Finance Minister who owns Databank?

So today if your uncle becomes President, you can use your influence to acquire government property to revive your private business. Wonders shall never end.

I remember after the infamous June 3rd flood, Ibrahim Mahama offered to distill the drains in Accra at no cost to government but he received insults and threats from Kennedy Agyapong and the NPP of using government earthmoving machines for his personal gains.

Today a whole government building is been used by Databank which belongs to the nephew of the President as a regional office and the country is quite on it.

No wonder we are advised to watch the Animal Kingdom rather than follow the happenings in our country to enable us to give inputs for national development.

Hon. George Attah Boateng the former CEO of NITA wrote something on my Facebook page when asked if Databank is untouchable in the recent bank of Ghana take over.

He said “It means never lose the power of the people when u get the chance again. The sweetness of power is in the doing.

On this note, I rest my case and working hard in my small Conner awaiting a victorious 2020.
