Contrary to the improper notion of scores of Ghanaians about the inception of the free senior high school education by the incumbent Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led NPP administration, it is only appropriate and justifiable for all and sundry to be apprised of the fact that, the John Dramani Mahama-led NDC administration orchestrated the maiden implementation of free SHS by modifying  it in a progressive manner as it was deemed more fruitful if done that way than making it entirely free which detriments may be very enormous for the country to bear as it was evidently in concordance with the feasible and plausible promises of the erstwhile administration of governance.

As such, due credence must deservedly be given to John  Dramani Mahama and the entire previous NDC government for the industrious work and for playing a seminal, sensitive and painstaking role in the enforcement of the Free SHS whose fruits are being enjoyed today by the New Patriotic Party via the free SHS of theirs.

Prior to the incompletely free senior high school education of the incumbent government, many questions were raised in respect of the sustainability of the policy which they claimed was the most paramount priority they had and subsequently the outrageously unfulfilled One district one factory policy which has become a mirage over two years after they were given the mandate to serve the good people of Ghana for a constitutionally entrenched period of four years.

The free SHS as borne out from the workable initiatives of the previous administration saw the construction of many lasting monumental infrastructures (E- Blocks) by means of the community day schools in direct expedition of the Free SHS most especially in the sensitive areas deemed relatively undeveloped in the country to enable indigenes of those areas have access to free secondary education.

The maiden advent of the Free SHS policy under the stewardship of John Dramani Mahama administration ensured many more Ghanaians of satisfactory qualifications from their basic level enclave transition to various community day senior high school which was made absolutely free and  consequently wouldn’t  suffer and go through the stress of struggling for accommodation both in class and at the dormitory as current happenings are confirming so under the current free SHS policy of the NPP which has undoubtedly been deemed a build up to that of the doable and sustainable one of the previous government.

There were numerous positive economic repercussions that elicited after the logically planned free SHS educational policy of the able and charismatic former president John Mahama.

Knowing fully well the importance of education as being one of the major catalyst to development, the current free SHS is here and it is here to cause us more harm than good as the quality of our educational system will start deteriorating,  going down the drain and with time get completely dilapidated in the course of educating our young children who we cherished so much in regards to their consummate abilities to handle the country in a manner we have all been yearning for in the foreseeable future. These consummate abilities can only be embellished the more and advanced through a well-structured senior high school educational system devoid of any major hiccups in the quality of our education.

Let us not wait for our educational system undergo any alterations and metamorphoses which could bring the unforeseen beast out of it as the recently enforced double track SHS policy which is stemmed out from the failed attempt of the holistic-accommodation of students free SHS promised Ghanaians by the NPP is not giving the populace any optimism of a better Free SHS and in effect has the propensity of spelling doom on the country.
