According to the reports, the MCE, Mr. Collins Offinam could not account for the said amount, a situation which arose the wrath of the people of Tano South Municipality in the Ahafo Region.

Owusu Boakye Collins, a citizens of Bechem in the municipality in an interview after the report was published expressed his disappointment that “whiles we continue to cry for proper accountability, little have we realized that an armed robber is in the helm of affairs.”

The people of the municipality urged the the special prosecutor to treat this development with all the seriousness and exercise his prerogatives.

Owusu Boakye Collins went on to register his displeasure that whiles all these monies could be paid and one’s personal accounts, the MCE could have used such monies to fund scholarships for brilliant but needy students in the municipality.

They called on others in higher standing including President Akufo Addo, assembly members of the municipality as well as their ‘Nananom’ to seek clarifications and justice aimed at retrieving this amount of money for their community development projects.

They also demanded the arrest of the Tano South MCE and further called for seizure of his assets as some of the steps to retrieve this amount of money into the government coffers.
