Susan Adu-Amankwah, the Executive Secretary of the National Interest Movement, has strongly rebuked Rev. Ntim Fordjour, the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence Committee, over his recent public allegations concerning suspected flights.

Rev. Fordjour, the Assin South MP, had claimed that two planes were carrying suspicious flights, including cocaine and large sums of money, without providing concrete evidence.

During her appearance on Joy News’ Newsfile, Adu-Amankwah questioned the MP’s decision to make such serious allegations without verifying the information or following proper channels.

“If he didn’t have evidence of cocaine and money, what was he talking about?” she asked, expressing concerns about the potential harm of spreading unverified claims.

Adu-Amankwah emphasized that, as a member of parliament, Fordjour holds a significant public responsibility and has access to official channels to report such concerns. She argued that instead of making public insinuations that could cause unnecessary panic or misinformation, the MP should have approached national security authorities.

She also stressed the need for elected officials to act with greater responsibility when dealing with sensitive matters, particularly those with national security implications.

“That is the well-meaning Ghanaian. That is the well-meaning citizen,” she said, urging public figures to focus on serving the country’s best interests rather than engaging in public grandstanding.
