Mrs Irene Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, who is the founder of the NGO engaged a team of medical staff and other volunteers from Accra and Kumasi to undertake the exercise.

The event which was held at the Kronom Methodist Church on Saturday, November 21, drew thousands of residents from other adjoining communities in the constituency.

The common conditions diagnosed were diabetes, hepatitis, prostate cancer, breast screening, anaemia, dental and eye problems, among others.

Timely intervention

The many beneficiaries, who had their health conditions checked could not hide their emotion as most of them said they could not afford the services.

“This afternoon we have been medically screened free of charge. I didn’t pay a dime”, one of the beneficiaries said as she thanked and praised the NGO for showing them love and care.

“This intervention is timely. I had my child screened as well”, another said urging the team to continue with the good work.

NGO’s commitment
