Awakenewsroom.com can confirm that the student who reportedly stabbed his colleague to death at O’Reilly Senior High School has been taken into custody by the police.
The victim, identified as Edward Borketey Sackey, an 18-year-old General Arts student, was said to be a friend of Godwin, the suspect, who is also a Visual Arts student at the school.
According to eyewitnesses, the fight began right after the victim had completed one of his final year exams. Information gathered by Awakenewsroom.com indicates that the argument leading to the fight was about possessions they owned.
Edward’s cousin, who spoke to the media on the basis of anonymity, narrated that the fight resulted from a harmless issue. She explained, “We heard some noise at the back, and we asked what was wrong. They said it was Godwin and Edward fighting. I asked what the fight was about, and they said it was nothing serious.”
According to her, the victim rushed to the teachers to report the issue before subsequently being stabbed. The father and other family members of the victim approached the school authorities to demand a full-scale investigation and disclosure on how their family member was cruelly murdered.
