The passengers who ply Bimbilla-Chamba-Salaga road in the night are now living in fear as some assailants have started attacking people during dark hours with the intention of robbing down of their belongs.
The latest person to be attacked is a student of Holy Spirit Senior High School in Chamba who was travelling from Chamba to Bimbilla during the hours of 7pm on Friday October 6,2017.
On his way on a motor bike, he sighted someone with touch light signaling him to stop, he thought, maybe someone was stranded and [ads1]needed his assistance but when he slowed down he realized that another person holding a stick hit him hard making him to fall down with the motor bike, the one with the touch light then rushed to pick the motor bike while the one with the stick continued to hit him with the stick making him weaker, he was however rescued by oncoming motor bikes which compelled the assailants to take to their heels. He was however taken to Chamba health centre where he was admitted and treated.
The victim, Joseph Nampar Mabefam, when asked about the identity of the assailants could only say they were youngmen but could not confirm their ethnicity since it was during dark hours.
When the reporter visited the scene, that is, the road linking Taali Community to Kpalsogu, he noticed that the portion of the road there was full of potholes given advantage to criminals to carry out their activities with ease. There is no any police barrier nearer to the place.
The reporter therefore calls the security agencies in Bimbilla to consider setting up a police barrier at Taali or Dakpam to help curb future occurrences.
