The Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has been blunt to the male teachers of the area’s Community Senior High School to stop their sexual relations with their female students.
Solomon Appiah said receipt of report of several amorous dispositions by male teachers, who are to mentor female students, are disturbing.
In view of that, he charged the authorities of the Kpone Community Day Senior High School to thoroughly investigate the claims by the female students and public and shun covering the culprit teachers.
“You need to intensify your Investigations on the reports that your male teachers are having sexual relations with some of these female students to let the truth come out. We need to know it,” the MCE said instructively when he took his turn to address the school at a fund raising ceremony for the construction of a school wall.
He did not mince saying: “As for me…As I stand here, I have taken my love out of the school. The school lacks discipline.”
Mr Appiah explained that the Assembly is investing a lot of its revenue to provide the most favourable teaching and learning environment for both teachers and students, but the records of gross indiscipline, resulting in abysmal academic performances, have waxed his love for the school.
“Teachers and students need to comport themselves very well so that during instructional hours, the incessant spotting of students in town doing their own things will stop. The disregard for rules and regulations by you, the students, has reached its peak and the earlier the school authorities and parents stay resolute to stem that ill, the better for us all.
“This is the only SHS we have in Kpone and so it is the duty of all stakeholders to ensure that we do our best to save its image for future beneficiaries.”
The school has a student population of 1,200.
Also present at the ceremony was the school’s PTA Executive.
