Ghanaian rapper cum producer, Paul Azunre, known as Dr Pushkin has added another level to his unrelenting music journey. The Texas-based SXSW 2023 alumnus announced the release date for his latest project, “Still Here”.
Just as usual, the Ghanaian mathematician and hard-hitting rapper did not go any level lower, matching up the bar he set for himself previously. Still Here, the top single billed for release in June features one of Ghana’s finest and trusted names in rap, Strongman.
Announcing the news, Dr Pushkin congratulated the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Best Rapper Performance winner whom he said is an inspiration. “You are an inspiration, and have reminded me once again that no matter what the opps throw our way, we will overcome…”
Still Here apart from having the Ghanaian rap heavyweight on, also features Ataman Nikita, just two months after they teamed up to drop the ageless “No Go Go.”
The latest announcement by Dr Pushkin takes his year to already half a dozen tracks having started the year with No Heroes featuring Nigerian rappers’ nightmare, Lyrical Joe. He then linked up with Ataman Nikita and Ko-Jo Cue for No Go Go before doing Just Watch with CJ Biggerman and Taitan in March.
In April, Dr Pushkin went back home to Bolgatanga by teaming up with one of the Upper East’s finest B-Wayne to walk out leaving “Empty Graves”. Then came the period of revision in May when he revisited one of the best from his debut Outlandish album, Winning to do a remix. He re-engaged the services of the tongue-twisting rap legend, Budukusu Quatta, who featured in the original track and Wyldthang.
Meanwhile, Still Here and the other tracks are all part of the preparation for the scheduled release of his duology “No Heroes” and “No Miracles” albums later this year. Still Here is scheduled for release on June 12 but can be pre-saved here.
The track was produced by Lloyd Osei Baffour popularly known as Peeweezel Cue.
