The former Volta Regional Deputy Women Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hannah Ashade claims some media houses are misleading the public on government policies and achievements.

Speaking to journalists during a float organised by the Ho Central Constituency Women Orgarnizer, the former Regional Deputy Women Organizer said, some media houses and practitioners have shifted from their core objectives just to gain audience and patronage for their stories.

“If you want to know more about government policies, then the media is no longer the right place. Some of the media houses are misleading the public on the achievements of this government, just tell gain audience or patronage for their stories,” she stated.

She added, “There are policy initiatives introduced by this government especially, for the empowerment of women but the media is now focused on doing bad news just to get the attention of the public.”

According to the former NPP executive, the District Assemblies offer credible and reliable information on government policies thus, the public should shun the media for the District Assemblies.

“For me, I advise the general public to seek for information on the Free SHS, Masloc and all other social intervention programs from their MMDAs, or even the information desk at the District Assembly,” she maintained.
