Shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has hit parts of Accra, with ‘No Gas’ signs at the entrance of gas stations.

Some areas in Lapaz, Weija, Kanashie, Westland amongst others are without LPG. The situation is said to worsen if the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) does not intervene.

Consumers are left frustrated as they move from one gas station to another gas station.

Vice President of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers Association (LPGMA), Gabriel Kumi, had earlier revealed to Channel One that all LPG station in Accra could run out of gas this weekend.

He said “My checks this morning indicate that about 70% of LPG outlets in the Greater Accra Metropolis have run out of gas. If the situation does not improve, this could rise to about 80% and if the situation is not averted, by close of tomorrow, we expect all LPG stations in Greater Accra to run out of gas.”

However, consumers are calling on government to address the matter immediately.
