The NPP Communication Member for Techiman, Kwadwo Sarfo on Thursday, 24th October, 2019 has said that monies meant for the upgrading of roads and building of schools within the Techiman Municipality are being use for clearing of refuse in the municipality.

Speaking on Akina 100.9 Radio morning political program hosted by Righteous to comment on the poor state of roads and slow pace of development within the municipality, Mr Kwadwo Sarfo stated that ”Hon Donyina, the MCE for Techiman Municipality is using the monies meant for projects such as road upgrading and building of schools to clear refuse in the municipality because monies meant for clearing refuse have not been released by the government”.

He added that ”some people within the municipality have developed the habit of taking pictures at refuse sites and post them on social media in an attempt to tarnish and ostensibly disgrace the reputation of the MCE and that informed the decision to channel these resources into clearing of refuse”. Mr Sarfo subsequently thanked Hon John Kofi Donyina for taken up this decision.

Mr Kwadwo Sarfo admitted that the road that leads to his residence has been in a poor state but there is nothing that can be done to improve these roads.

Recently, Ghanaians will recall that President Akufo-Addo on his tour to the Bono Region on Monday, 7th October, 2019 commissioned a speed rump on the Sunyani – New Dormaa Road which became topics for weeks of discussion when the people rather expected the president to announce the award of the road on contract.

On the back of intensive public uproar about the slow level of development under the Akufo-Addo administration, Hon Ursula Owusu, the Minister of Communication on her tour to the Oti Region in October last month announced that 80% of NPP campaign promises have been achieved.
