The Chief Commercial Officer of Ghana Oil Palm Development Company ( GOPDC), Shetty Gangadhar  has emerged winner of the sleek Hyundai Sonata car in the ongoing MTN ‘Taking Over Promo’

The promo which is being run by Ghana’s biggest telecommunication giant, MTN in its first phase has seen a total of 28 customers with 4G Y5 handsets, Samsung S8 smartphones, iPhone 8, cash prizes, and Hyundai cars at a ceremony held in Accra last Friday.

The MTN ‘4G Taking Over Promo’ is a five-month promotion which [ads1]started in January 2018 and will end in May 2018.

Explaining the rationale behind the promo, Senior Specialist at the Consumer Segment of MTN, Maxwell Arthur disclosed the promotion seeks to reward loyal MTN customers who use the 4G network.

He explained that winners were selected based on how often they use their airtime to call, text, browse as well as their constant MTN mobile money transactions.

“The MTN 4G Taking Over promotion is simply a usage-based promotion where customers accrue points based on all network users. So every pesewa a customer spends on the network, MTN rewards you with a point. There is no need for any subscription,” he explained.

Four brand new Hyundai car models were given away at the first presentation held at the MTN Office in Accra off the Graphic road, with 8 customers receiving GHC 5,000 and 8 receiving GHC 2,000 each. 8 customers also won brand new iPhone 8 and Samsung S8 phones respectively. 8 customers also walked home with 4G Y5 handsets.

Shetty Gangadhar, Charles Banks, Veronica Zigah and Elton Amponsah were those lucky ones who drove away Hyundai Sonata, Accent and the two i10s respectively.

Mr. Noel Kojo, Ag. Chief Marketing Officer of MTN said, “We introduced the first 4G LTE based on our conviction that the technology can positively impact growth and development in Ghana.”

According to him, the service has been of enormous benefit to those who signed on and MTN wants appreciate the trust by its loyal customers.

“We therefore initiated the 4G Taking Over Promo to give our valued customers an experiential feel of MTN’s fastest 4G service and reward them for selecting or using the network of choice” he said.

Mr. Noel Kojo congratulated winners of the day and urged non-4G users to sign onto the service and be part of the 4G Taking Over Promo.
