VOLTA NDC CONGRATULATES HON. EMMANUEL KWESI BEDZRAH ON HIS APPOINTMENT TO THE ECOWAS PARLIAMENT

The Volta Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) congratulates the Member of Parliament for Ho West Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzrah, on his appointment to the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) Parliament.

On behalf of the Regional Party Leadership, entire membership, and indeed Voltarians home and abroad, we congratulate Hon. Bedzrah greatly, on such a significant elevation at the time our region is going through a lot of difficulties and challenges.

We also commend Hon. Clement Kofi Humado, immediate past MP for Anlo for successfully completing his tenure in the ECOWAS parliament.

It’s our hope and prayer that, Hon. Bedzrah would be inspired by this appointment to:

1. Champion the principles of democracy and good governance within the ECOWAS sub-region.

2. See to the operationalization of the magnificent Ho Airport built by H.E. John Dramani Mahama aimed at opening the region to other parts of the world, boost tourism and create job opportunities for the youth.
We look forward to a day when Hon. Bedzrah and others can fly from the Ho Airport to attend to ECOWAS parliamentary duties in Abuja, Nigeria and other parts of the sub-region.

3. Rescue many of our people particularly women who are suffering from acute socio-economic crisis compounded by unnecessary border closures.

4. Bring an end to the injustice and discrimination voltarians are going through within the national space particularly under this regime.

5. Bring a permanent end to the purported Seperatists movement and other human factor activities aimed at destabilising the region.

Hon. Bedzrah’s nomination to this enviable office is evidently a breath of fresh air in our body politic; and we have every conviction that his time spent in that august house shall be expended on such crucial undertakings as will deepen our democratic gains and advance the cause of development, progress and national cohesion.

The deliverability and achievability of Hon. Bedzrah as a Member of Parliament par excellence, as Chairman of the Volta MPs Caucus in good standing as well as his overcomer will-power exhibited in the many other lofty positions he has occupied as a career politician are not lost on us.

We wish him every success in this new endeavour.

…..Signed…..
JAMES GUNU
Regional Secretary
