Ranking Member on Parliament’s Committee on Defence and Interior and MP for Assin South Constituency, Rev. Ntim Fordjour, has called the nation’s top security agencies to account for three major investigations that have raised significant public interest and national security concerns.

In an official request sighted by Awake News, the MP has requested that representatives from National Security, Police CID, Narcotics Control Commission, and the National Investigations Bureau appear before members of the committee on Monday, April 7, to brief them.

The briefing, according to the minority MP, will focus on three critical cases including the Sapeiman gold and foreign currency discovery, the seizure of cocaine valued at hundreds of million of dollars, and the suspicious movement of two aircraft which were suspected of transporting illicit drugs.

Hon. Fordjour, further emphasized that the meeting will serve as both an accountability session and an opportunity for lawmakers to share relevant information that could aid investigations.

The MP’s request comes a day after President Mahama ordered investigations into claims that the two aircraft were transporting drug and money to unknown destinations. The claims were made by Hon. Fordjour in a press conference days ago.
