A loyalist to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), a Social Democracy Activist and the Research Director for CARE for Free and Fair Elections, Comrade Wilberforce Ahiagba has urged to the various incumbent Members of Parliament who contested in the first phase of the Parliamentary elections on the ticket of NDC to as a matter of urgency reconcile with their contenders and the grassroots towards resounding victory for the party in 2020.

According to him the inability of the MPs to win by wide margins could be due to their detachment and neglect from the grassroots surrogates. This, in his view, may affect the chances of the party in the major upcoming elections if these discrepancies are not resolved with immediate effect.

“We have a huge task ahead as a party and we need to defeat the NPP accolades emotionally before the major elections” – He said.

“Let us try to bring everybody in our various Constituencies on board in other to avoid apathy within our members.” – he urged

“Though it also the duty of the party officials to do so, the onus lies hugely in MP’s since they are holding the people’s mandate.” – He added

He also used this opportunity to congratulate the rank and file of individuals who were involved and brought victory to NDC on the last Saturday.

“Nobody lost, delegates have spoken and so, NDC won.”
