The Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Hon. James Gunu, has stated that the agitations and a widespread disconnect between party members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), and their Metropolitan, Municipal, District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) is a true reflection of the abysmal performance of the Nana Addo/Bawumia led administration.

The former, Akatsi North DCE, was commenting on the lacuna that has characterised the relationship between and or among party faithfuls and local government appointees under the NPP government. He cited areas like Krachi Nchumuru, Ketu South and Akatsi North, among others.

“If you like, sack all your MMDCEs and replace them hundred times. If your government doesn’t perform, you won’t understand anything.”

“The NPP government has destroyed outside the box, so your MMDCEs thinking outside the box are in a fix. I encourage you to sack your government and leave the appointees”.

According to James Gunu, many of these appointees would have resigned, but for the embarrassment to the government, they are still at post.

He made the observations in an interview with journalists after addressing NDC TEIN, at the Ho Technical University on Sunday.

He said though some may see it as a disgrace, it will be a great relief should any of them be sacrificed or sacked to satisfy the agitating NPP youth and their masters.

“The NPP government is faced with the realities of governance and time is catching up with them,” he added.

He again, called for unity and had work on the part of NDC in order to win the heart, mind and thumbs of the Ghanaian voter come 2020.
