Head coach of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, has firmly stated that Bruno Fernandes will not be leaving the club this summer, despite recent rumors linking the Portuguese playmaker to a potential move to Real Madrid.
Amorim, speaking ahead of United’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, emphasized that the club would do everything in its power to retain Fernandes, who has been a standout player this season. Fernandes, who is also the club’s captain, extended his contract with United until 2027 last August.
The speculation surrounding Fernandes’ future surfaced over the weekend, but Amorim was quick to dismiss the rumors.
When asked about the possibility of the 30-year-old midfielder moving to Madrid, Amorim responded decisively, “No, it’s not going to happen.” He further confirmed his stance, stating, “He’s not going anywhere because I’ve already told him.”
Fernandes has been crucial to United’s success this season, scoring 16 goals across all competitions, a tally no other player at the club has matched.
His recent form includes a standout performance in the Europa League, where he netted a hat-trick in the 5-0 victory over Real Sociedad, just before the international break.
Amorim’s comments come as a clear indication of his commitment to keeping the influential captain at the heart of United’s plans for the future.
