Cristiano Ronaldo’s eldest son, 14-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, has received his first-ever call-up to Portugal’s Under-15 national team.
Currently playing for Al-Nassr’s youth side in Saudi Arabia, where his father signed in December 2022, Ronaldo Jr will join the Portugal U-15 squad for a youth tournament in Croatia from May 13–18.
Portugal is set to face Japan, Greece, and England in the competition.
Proud father Cristiano Ronaldo, 40, shared the news on social media, posting a picture of his son’s name on the official squad list with the message, “Proud of you, son.”
Ronaldo Sr, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, remains an active Portugal international and holds the world record for most international goals in men’s football, with 136 goals.
Ronaldo Jr’s youth football journey has followed his father’s career path, with stints in the academies of Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United, and now Al-Nassr.
Reports suggest he once scored an impressive 58 goals in a single season for Juventus’ youth team.
While he’s now set to represent Portugal at youth level, Ronaldo Jr is also eligible to play for the United States, where he was born, or Spain, where his father spent years at Real Madrid.
