Infomation reaching Awake News indicates that some armed robbers have attacked the Kwabenya Police Station in Accra killing one of the police commanders.

[ads1]According to the information, the robbers have also set free suspects who were in the custody of the Police.

The attack, according to sources occurred Saturday dawn at about 1am.

The identity of the slain commander is not yet known.

The latest development is coming on the hills of similar attacks on security personnel by suspected criminals in the country.

Last week, two officers were shot dead by robbers while returning from night duties in the Ashanti Region, while a military officer attached to the Flagstaff House was also killed by the roadside at Tema, a fortnight ago.
