The Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN), a student wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has express dismay over what they call blatant and shameless lies put out by Hon. Adwoa Sarfo who is the Procurement Minister and also double as member of parliament for Dome Kwabenya constituency.

According to TEIN, the honorable minister attempted to distort facts about the building of one of John Dramani Mahama’s legacies (the [ads1]famous 123 community senior high schools).

According to the Dome Kwabenya lawmaker, she made a land available and secured World Bank funding for the project. This the group described as “such an infantile and unrehearsed lies”.

In a press release by the group, the statements by Hon Adwoa Sarfo which were exposed by the World Bank as not ever dealing with Awoa Sarfor, it is a basic knowledge to citizenry that the World Bank does not deal with individuals as indicated in their response to the “beautiful liar”.

According to the group, they are not unaware of the numerous lies of political opportunists who take solace without shame in belittling the intelligence of Ghanaians.

They also stated that the lawmaker needs to be reminded that she and her parliamentary caucus were largely against the World Bank facility that funded those community senior high schools including the one she is claiming ownership of.

The group cautions that a minister of state should not engage in such lies especially when she is heading an office like minister of procurement which under normal circumstances should keep facts and figures of national importance.

The TEIN leadership also stated that Adwoa Sarfo has disrespected her own office and put the office into disrepute, and therefore asked her to retract her statements and apologize to Ghanaians.

The group therefore called on the President Nana Akufo-Addo to sack the minister for such a disgraceful act and adding that such characters in sensitive position of government would only mean that government lacks integrity and the moral standards required for good and smooth governance.

The group also cautions Ghanaians to beware of politicians who think that lies, deception and arrogance are what keep them in power.
