During the run-up to the 2016 presidential election in Ghana, the Africa Center for International Law and Accountability (ACILA), a research and education, non-partisan, and non-profit think tank conducted a nationwide survey to find out the issues that would determine the vote of the electorate and the order of importance.

Respondents identified Jobs (22%) and Cost of Living (22%) as the two key issues that would determine their vote followed by Corruption (20%), Education (13%), Health (9%), Infrastructure (9%) and Peace & Security (5%).

On December 7, 2016, the electorate unseated the incumbent president, Mr. John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), giving the mandate to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with nearly 10% margin of victory.

After nearly one year in office, ACILA in collaboration with Awake Africa invited the public to rate the performance of President Akufo-Addo based on the seven key issues the electorate had identified on the survey.

After 10days of the public’s participation in the online survey below is the result: CLICK HERE
