Red Tour is an initiative of GALs World, which educates girls on their menstrual health; hygiene and management, in addition to awareness creation on teenage pregnancy. Free pads distribution is a plus to roundup the education. Boys are not left out, they also received education on career development & abstinence.
GALs World’s 2nd Red Tour was in partnership with PPAG’s youth wing YAM Legon Chapter to execute this year’s project as they did same last year.
This year, the Red Tour took place in the North Tongu district of the Volta region on 26th October 2018.
The team met with the Ghana Education Service’s SHEP in the Volta Region, Mrs.Veronica Lumor and her team; Madam Florence Ashiabor and Bismarck Donkor led us to the various schools.
We toured eight (8) schools which were; Mepe RC JHS, Mepe Presby JHS, Battor D/A JHS, Battor RC JHS, Manya Methodist JHS, Aveyime RC JHS, United DA Methodist JHS & Aveyime Methodist JHS, to educate the girls on their menstrual hygiene and management.
GALs World was into two groups, which group one gave career development education and its possible influence in attaining goals and abstinence to especially the boys in the schools, whiles group two did the main reason for our mission, educating the girls on their menstrual health, saving for independence among others.
The North Tongu District Coordinator, the GES SHEP, Mrs Veronica Lumor expressed her gratitude and happiness. She applauded GALs World for this initiative.
