I have been an ardent follower and a strong disciple of Anas due to his contribution towards nipping corruption in the bud.
I was one of the very few people in the country who were first interviewed on GhOne Television immediately after Number 12 Exposé was premiered at the International Press Center. I doffed my hat out for him for the stupendous work done on the Number 12 and other groundbreaking exposés.
Fast forward February 2019, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his TigerEye PI Team released yet another exposé on the activities of illegal mining. Whilst watching this particular piece, I was taken aback and was quite worried because of the inconsistencies that had clouded the lens through which I was watching the video. As an ardent follower of Anas, I had to watch the piece severally and at different time intervals just to acquaint myself at the particular juncture Mr. Charles Bissue soiled his hands with corruption as was heralded and headlined. This was the moment I saw and realized that Anas didn’t cross his ‘T’ and dot his ‘I’ as far as this exposé is concerned. I knew this wouldn’t stand the test of time.
To demonstrate its commitment to the fight against corruption and not to shield any wrong doing in this current administration, the Government through the Information Minister, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah called for the raw unedited footage of the entire exposé for the necessary action to be taken. The gentleman at the center of the exposé also recused himself as the secretary of the Inter Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining to pave way for a thorough and independent investigations into the subject matter. For me, this was an indescribable commitment by Mr. Charles Bissue in allowing and seeing to the free flow of investigations.
However, I’m not able to fathom why it has taken Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye Group a whole 2 months to produce the raw footage of the video as was requested by the government. Interestingly, the part 2 of the exposé as was promised at the tail end of the part 1 has also not been served. With events unfolding as I write this article, the posture by Anas particularly on this exposé is impervious to logic. It’s sad I’m lampooning and bastardizing the work of my idol but I cannot trade my conscience and principles to fraternalism.
Since time and tide waits for no man, we cannot waste and mark precious time just to wait for a man who has made a claim and is refusing to prove beyond reasonable doubt. If not for anything at all, Mr. Charles Bissue has wholeheartedly contributed in the fight against illegal mining up to this stage. The success story of His Excellency’s quest in clamping down on illegal mining cannot be written without recourse to Mr. Charles Bissue and the IMCIM’s enormous contributions.
Since the fight against illegal mining and its related development isn’t over, Mr. Charles Bissue as a matter of urgency must be recalled to continue the good work he started. He who alleges, must prove beyond ALL REASONABLE DOUBTS. If it can take just 2 weeks to come out with such an exposé, I don’t think it should take ages to present an unedited raw footage.
Mr. Charles Bissue should be reinstated NOW and the corruption tag taken off his neck ASAP!!!
