The National Deputy Director of the Traders and Artisans Network, Bright Botcwhay, has urged traders and artisans in Ghana to take the limited voter registration exercise seriously.
According to him, traders, artisans and their apprentices should participate in the registration process to enable them to exercise their voting rights. He said partaking in voting is the only way to effect the political change necessary to boost their businesses.
Mr. Botchway highlighted the critical role that voter registration plays in enabling individuals to participate fully in the democratic process. He added that by registering as voters, traders and artisans can vote and influence the direction of the country’s governance. Mr. Botchway said traders after registering will have the chance to vote for the NDC to turn the country’s economy around, something that would be beneficial to traders and artisans.
According to Mr. Botchway, President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia-led government have failed businesses. That failure, he said, should be the guiding light for traders and artisans to vote for John Mahama to turn things around.
Bright Botchway appealed to the NDC to mobilize the trading and artisan sectors to support a shift in leadership. He said John Mahama is a nation-builder and is the best candidate to make the impact Ghanaians have been lacking for some time.
Botchway believes that by rallying behind Mahama, traders and artisans can work towards a government that better represents their interests and addresses their concerns.
“By participating in the electoral process, traders and artisans can ensure that their voices are heard on issues such as economic policies, trade regulations, and support for small businesses.”
“In light of these considerations, it is imperative for traders and artisans across Ghana to heed to my admonition and prioritize participation in the limited registration exercise. By doing so, they can not only secure their voting rights but also contribute to the collective effort to bring about meaningful political change and shape the future of their nation.”
