Antonio Rudiger

Real Madrid are considering making a rare exception to their long-standing contract policy as they aim to extend Antonio Rudiger’s stay at the club.

Traditionally, Madrid only offer one-year contract extensions to players over 30, but Rudiger’s influence and form may lead to a change.

The German defender, who has a contract until 2026, has become a key figure in Carlo Ancelotti’s defense, especially with injuries to Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal.

His leadership and performances, including a crucial extra-time winner against Real Sociedad, have strengthened his case for a longer stay.

Although clubs in the Saudi Pro League are reportedly interested in signing him, Rudiger remains committed to Real Madrid and has no plans to leave before his current deal ends.

According to reports, Madrid may offer him a two-year extension until 2028, instead of the usual one-year deal, in recognition of his value to the team.

The club will still likely propose a one-year deal initially, but Rudiger’s importance may push them to reconsider their usual approach.
