Global music icon, Akon has said he felt guilty visiting some villages in Africa while putting on 50,000 dollars earrings and seeing the poverty situation of these fellow Africans.
The described is as useless hence his effort to invite about $1 billion in China to provide electricity to Africa.

“I have invested $1 billion in China to provide electricity in Africa. Africa lacks electricity, water, basic infrastructure, there is a lot of progress to be made.
And you see the misery, you just want to help, it’s no longer a frenzy, I’m not wearing jewelry anymore.
I saw so many people in need, until I feel guilty when I visit Villages putting on earrings that cost 50000 dollars is useless. It’s just the pat in the eye that only serves to make the beauty in front of others.That’s why I decided to use my money to help others.”
