The National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer George Opare Addo, has stated that the party will use a different approach in the 2024 general election. According to him, the NDC will employ strategies, not violence, to achieve its goals.
Speaking at the NDC Youth Manifesto launch in Accra on August 12, 2024, Lawyer Opare Addo expressed confidence in the Ghanaian youth’s commitment to ousting the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He stated that “This election will be a revolution without guns. Our focus will be on protecting the ballot, and we will vote massively while ensuring the integrity of our ballots. As I always say, the NDC is a law-abiding party, and we will take power through legal means.”
Lawyer Opare Addo was optimistic that the NDC would win the 2024 presidential race and promised an improved future for the youth under a John Mahama-led administration. He lamented that Ghana has deviated from its once-bright democratic path and urged the youth to vote for the NDC to restore it.
“Young people are losing faith in our democracy because our future has been stolen from us. We must hold the ruling government accountable for their actions,” he said.
The NDC executive further argued that the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, was the right person to reset Ghana and improve the country’s economic conditions.
