The Dean of the University of Cape Coast Business School, Prof. John Gatsi has reflected on the extraordinary leadership that former Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, late Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur provided the then Economic Management Team that helped the John Mahama administration gave life to the Ghanaian economy.

Speaking to Awake News on the remembrance of the late Vice President today which marks his birthday, Prof. Gatsi recounted how the late Vice President will occasionally “engage like-minded people to revise strategy and plan for the future” for the country.

As he puts it, “Like in the military, after some time on the battlefield, you retreat do introspection, engage like-minded people to revise strategy and plan for the future.”

“His excellency Late Vice President Amissah Arthur lead convened of the national economic forum mapped out the investments and homegrown strategy that revived the Ghanaian economy.” – He recalled.

Late Amissah Arthur, before coming to the Vice President to former President John Mahama in 2012 served Ghana in several capacities including a Deputy Finance Minister and Governor of Bank of Ghana.

He, however, died on June 29, 2018, just two years after leaving office.
