A die-hard supporter of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has joined scores of supporters to send a strong message to the NDC Member of Parliament on the Appointment Committee that will be vetting President Akufo-Addo’s ministerial nominees.

Madam Akorli took to her Facebook page to share a photo of one of the victims of the December 2020 election violence at the Awutu Senya West Constituency in the Central Region.

The said photo has been circulating on social media since the announcement of the appointment committee which saw the NDC and the NPP have the same number (13/13) on the appointment committee.

According to her and many other social media users, the said victim is a member of the NDC.

“Posterity will judge NDC MPs if they approve Hawa Koomson as Fisheries Minister! This is what she did to many innocent supporters of NDC, including the one in this photo?
We must weed out criminals from our democracy!!!!!!” – Madam Akorli writes

“Eyes on the NDC MPs on the Appointment Committee” – She added

If readers can recall, The Awutu Senya West Constituency is one of the few constituencies that recorded violence during the December 7, 2020 election. During the Election register registration exercise, Hawa Koomson came under heavy bashing with many calling for her arrest and prosecution following hiring a warning shot at one of the registration centres in her constituency.

The President of Ghana has released a list of 46 Ministers of State and Regional Ministers for his second term.

Since the list was released, there have been concerns raised about the Fisheries and Aquaculture Development Minister-Designate Hawa Koomson who is on record to have fired gunshots at a voter registration center.

To many, the President shouldn’t have appointed her for the second time considering her record in her constituency.
