The former Cheif Executive Officer of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Dr. William Ahadzi is advising the NPP government to call for help in the management of the economy.
According to him, there are too many inconsistencies in the policies of the government and that development is “holding down progress” of the country.
Dr. Ahadzi in his facebook past said “Governance is not about platitudes, political rhetoric and experimentation. The current try and [ads1]error approach to governance is driving Ghana into a political and economic cul-de-sac.”
“Advise to Government; call for help. Begin a national Dialogue and secure broad buy-in on the way forward” – he said
Making reference to some of the government’s policy, this of what Dr. said:
Policy inconsistencies holding down progress.
1. Back tracked on UNIVERSAL and FREE SHS. We are hearing Targeted education delivery
2. Promised TAX reduction, introduced more taxes and raised rates
3.Ghana does not need to borrow from external sources. Ghana is now debt-distressed
4. Shift from taxation-based revenue generation to production-driven revenue mobilisation. Policy is in reverse gear
5. 216 factories under 1 District 1 factory policy. Snail-pace policy implementation
6. Promised massive job-creation for the Youth. Snr minister and now Finance Minister calling for job cuts
7 Several other policy failures
Governance is not about platitudes, political rhetoric and experimentation. The current try and error approach to governance is driving Ghana into a political and economic cul-de-sac.
Advise to Government; call for help. Begin a national Dialogue and secure broad buy in on the way forward.
