According to the obviously furious SP, the petition to his office is opportunistic and populist and as such does not serve any useful purpose apart from the petitioners seeking to take glory for a process that had already started.

In a response to a petition filed by Stranek Africa, Mr Amidu said, his office had already written to Parliament requesting information on the deal to kick start investigation into it.

The SP said it was needless for the CSO to petition his office when it eas widely reported in the media that he had already stated what they wanted him to do.

Dismissing the petition, the former Attorney General said the petition was based on mere speculations of wrongdoings.

Stranek Africa had petitioned the OSP to investigate allegations of corruption, nepotism and conflict of interest in the controversial Agyapa deal.
