The Municipal Chief Executive Officer of La Nkwantanang Municipal Assembly, Mrs Jennifer Adjabeng has observed investing in quality and equity education backed by the right standards are vehicles that drives a nation to obtain skills and knowledge required for effective social and labour market integration.

According to her, well educated people contribute to more democratic societies including sustainable economies and are less dependent on public aid as well as less vulnerable economic downturns, [ads1]which is vividly highlighted in President Akufo Addo’s “Ghana Beyond Aid” agenda.

Mrs Adjabeng made this known at the 6th graduation ceremony of Penfield High School in Accra last Saturday June 30, 2018.

The colourful ceremony which was under the theme:”If you cannot embrace change, at least give it a hug” witnessed about twenty-seven (27) graduands honoured with WASSCE and IGCSE programs certificates.

Out of the total number of graduands, eighteen(18) were awarded with the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for the 2017/2018 whiles the remaining nine(9) were handed the International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE) for 2017/2018.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Principal of the School, Mr. Patrick Essiem advised the graduands to be proactive, prayerful and principled.

He also charged them to always ensure they stand for what is quality wherever they find themselves.

“I urge you all to go beyond your call of duty to do extra to bring good result knowing there’s more room for improvement and always make sure you’re counted among the best in whatever you do”.

Mr Essiem further noted despite the fact that the school is still young, it has registered gargantuan achievements as a result of many quality students it has churned out who are either currently pursuing their higher education in tertiary schools or doing well in the job market.

He identified the school’s location as a key problem it is battling which is equally affecting the enrollment of most children in school but was quick to add that parents are now beginning to enroll their wards to attend because they’ve heard good stories about it.

“People felt it was so remote, not in town but you see it’s a good quality stuff, therefore its location for people doesn’t matter because they’re now beginning to come”, he stressed.

Penfield School (PH) was established in 2008 as a wholly Ghanaian owned private Christian school.

The school is co-educational, mainly boarding and operates a hybrid system of education, which is the combination of Ghanaian and the British Curricula.

Its curriculum blends the strengths of both the British educational system which focuses on critical thinking and personal developments, and the Ghanaian equivalent which emphasizes discipline and hard work.

Currently situated within a serene and secured environment near Kuottam Estate, Oyarifa in the Greater Accra Region, Penfield School runs a three – term year with each term covering a period of 12 to 16 weeks.
