The opposition National Democratic Congress flagbearer former president John Dramani Mahama has shattered the camp of president Nana Akuffo Addo as he calls on them to pay their toilets contractors.
Mahama taunted the Nana Akuffo Addo government as a government of toilets as the NPP launched their infrastructure tracker for accounting to the people that were full of toilet facilities. However, contractors who constructed these toilet has recently been decrying of government’s inability to pay them for work done.
Mr Mahama indicated in his campaign tour of the Eastern Region that due to the failure to pay them, these contractors have been left to remain at home jobless. Banks are also chasing after these contractors who took loans to pre-finance the toilet facilities.
“President Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia, the contractors said they haven’t been paid after completing the projects you are commissioning please pay them,” Mr Mahama stated.
He again stated that “This government has destroyed the work of contractors. Most of them are now at home jobless. 538 contractors built toilets that you are commissioning, yet you are not paying them. “Some borrowed money and used [it] to pre-finance the projects but they haven’t paid.” Some of the citizenries point to this as an embarrassment to the government that is seeking re-election and taunts itself as a better government to the erstwhile Mahama administration in terms of infrastructural development.
Mr. Mahama in his call to the president also added that the economy has been destroyed by president Nana Akuffo Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. You said we seating on money yet we are hungry, it is today that Ghanaians are more hungry. He concluded that Ghanaians must vote for the NDC to rescue Ghana as this year’s election is not about NPP and NDC but for Mother Ghana.
