Members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) who are supporters of Kennedy Agyepong’s presidential ambition in the Awutu Senya East constituency, have accused fellow party members of threatening them with violence.
The group claims they have been subjected to persistent victimization after voicing their concerns during a visit by the Prof. Mike Ocquaye-led committee.
The committee was set up by the NPP to investigate factors behind the party’s poor performance in the recent general elections.
Prince Larbie, a Kennedy Agyepong campaign supporter, disclosed that he was assaulted during a party gathering.
Speaking to journalists, he expressed alarm over the increasing hostility toward Agyepong’s backers.
The affected members are urging their party’s national leadership to intervene, warning that such intimidation undermines efforts to unite the party ahead of future elections.
They have also called on the police to take swift action to ensure their protection.
