Otto Addo Black Stars of Ghana Coach

Former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak Legend Charles Taylor, has labeled the coach of the Black Stars as the problem curtailing Ghana’s progress in the 2025 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Charles Taylor’s comment comes in response to Ghana’s goalless with Sudan at the Accra sports Stadium on October 10, 2024.

According to him head coach of the Black Stars Otto Addo, selection of players and tactical approach to the games is surprising to him. He lamented of how the coach used Jordan Ayew in the Sudan game, stating the skipper’s role as a striker was problematic.

Charles in an interview with Angel Fm over the weekend said, “The biggest problem of the coach is the squad selection. I’m not saying they are not good, but he does not have the audacity to speak to players when things are going wrong. If he had, we would have gotten a goal against Sudan. I couldn’t even notice the striker in the game; if it was Jordan Ayew, then his positioning on the pitch was different.

“He lacks an in-depth understanding of the job, which reflects in his approach to games. Otto must listen to advice. He has been using the same squad for matches, which does not give positive results, so what is preventing him from changing the squad?”

Ghana is now with two (2) points in group F behind Sudan also with four (4) points and the leader of the group being Angola with nine (9) points.

The second leg of the match against Sudan in the 2025 AFCONQ will take place in Libya on October 15, 2024.
