Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has announced that he can’t promise victories with the team but can guarantee Ghanaians of good football.
Otto Addo made the statement when he announced the 26-man Black Stars squad for June’s World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic. The former Black Stars midfielder thanked the Ghana Football Association for a second chance to lead the team.
His main task is to qualify the Black Star for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He led the team to Qatar 2022 where they exited in the group stage.
Ghana will play against Mali on June 6 in Bamako before taking on the Central African Republic on June 10 in Kumasi. The Black Stars lost their second Group I match to Comoros who lead the group with 6 points. Ghana is 4th in the group behind Mali and Madagascar.
“I am really excited and happy to be back. It was not easy, but the GFA had good talks with Dortmund. I’m excited and looking forward to the next match. I can’t promise victories but I can promise you that we will play good football. I want to bring back the joy of watching us play. My players will not be afraid of the ball,” he said.
