The school is purely a day school. As a Form Master, Mr. Bernard Joachim Potakey, a teacher at Nkwanta Community SHTS took a section of students numbering about 50 to a very reputable hotel in the Nkwanta South Municipality called Gateway Hotel to introduce the students to how to use the cutlery set for the first time.

Each of the students were given a set of cutlery and a plate of fried rice with meat and a bottle of water to practice how to use the cutlery, how to arrange them and also how to observe table manners. Management of the hotel assisted in taking them through the usage of the cutlery. A nurse at Nkwanta District Hospital (Medical Village) was also invited to give the students brief health talks on teenage pregnancy, HIV/AIDS and other STIs/STDs, Drug and Substance abuse, and other health related issues. The School Counsellor (Mr. Joas Anato), School Chaplain (Mr. Maxwell Gavi) and the SRC patron (Mr. Francis Yewenu) were also present to give the students talks on self and academic development and progress, moral values, self-discipline and networking.

Movement for Change Adolescent Health Ambassadors (An Adolescent Health Club made up of SHS teenagers Championed by Mr. Bernard Joachim Potakey in the Municipality and Oti Region) were also present to introduce the students to an App introduced by Ghana Health Service for adolescents and all called the YMK (You Must Know) App that can be downloaded from the google play store on android phones.

Present was also the Assistant Headmaster for Academics, Mr Quampah also admonished the students to make good use of the opportunity given. He told them appreciate the gesture extended to them from Mr. Bernard Joachim Potakey for it is only few people that can come out with such initiative.
