Speaking to members of the Ghanaian community during a gathering in Lagos, Nigeria, Ablakwa sought to allay fears and provide clarity on the Vice President’s health status.

“I want to assure you that she is doing very, very well. Your prayers have really helped. I have heard from her, so I know what I’m talking about,” he said.

His remarks come in response to growing online speculation suggesting that the Vice President had died after a brief illness. These claims have sparked confusion and concern among the public.

The Vice President reportedly took ill on Friday, March 28, 2025, after work and was admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) for treatment.

According to an official statement issued by the Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, on Sunday, March 30, medical professionals at UGMC recommended that she continue her treatment abroad for further specialized care.

Despite the circulating rumors, government officials have maintained that there is no cause for alarm. Ablakwa stressed the need for responsible communication, especially when it concerns the health of public figures.
