According to the group’s chairman, Mohammed Salisu Hussein in a statement said the ruling NPP government has not done little to improve the lives of the hardworking Ghanaian farmers.

In congratulating the Ghanaian farmers on the celebration of farmers Day in Tamale and across all the district capitals in Ghana, Mr. Hussein said farmers should pray hard for the opposition NDC to win the 2020 general elections so that they will be given the good treatment as it was done in the days of the Rawlings, Prof Atta Mills and John Mahama in the areas of good farming practices, increased cocoa prices and free fertilizer program.

He noted the role of farmers in the country saying “farmers are the backbone of a nation since farmers help to feed the nation and also export some of their proceeds where the country even earn revenue.

Some of the group members said that the government claim to have improved agricultural activities in Ghana yet items like goats, sheep are selling high at the market recently, they are even praying the high prices do not affect poultry as we approach Christmas.
