Delegates of the National Democratic Congress NDC in the Odododiodoo Constituency in the Greater Accra Region will today elect Parliamentary candidate for the party in the constituency.
Over 2,300 delegates of the NDC commenced voting this morning and it is expected to end by 5pm.
The election proceeded after the dismissal of an interlocutory injunction application filed by disqualified candidate Michael Nii Yarboi Anan, which initially led to the party’s indefinite postponement of the election.
The Chairman of the NDC in the Odododiodioo Constituency, Paul Nii Oblie Laryea, confirmed in an interview that the voting process was going on smoothly.
In November 2023, the Functional Executive Committee of the NDC disqualified Michael Nii Yarboi Annan from contesting in the parliamentary election in the Odododiodioo Constituency.
The decision was based on findings made by a special committee established by the Functional Executive Committee, justifying his disqualification from participating in party’s parliamentary primary in the Odododiodoo Constituency.
