The Nungua Traditional Council has summoned journalist Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah of Angel FM over alleged defamatory comments. A letter of summons signed by the Deputy Administrator of the Council, Napoleon Stanley-Teye, ordered the journalist to appear before the elders of the Nungua Traditional Council on April 12, 2024.
According to the letter of summons, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah made “unsavory and desecrating statements” against Nuumo Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse and the Paramount Chief of Nungua Traditional Area during a radio show at Angel FM.
“I have been instructed by the Elders of the Nungua Traditional Area, to invite you to the palace concerning the false, unsavory and desecrating statements you made against Nuumo Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse, Overlord of the Gadangme State and King Odaifio Welentsi III, Paramount Chief of Nungua Traditional Area during a radio show at Angel FM,” part of the letter stated.
Your meeting with the Elders is scheduled for Friday 12th April, 2024 at 11:00am at the Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse’s Palace (Nungua Ghorbu Koo Naa).”
